Lesson 12.6: Final Project - Your Presentation

Your Capstone Presentation

It is time to celebrate your hard work and showcase your skills! Your final project is to prepare and deliver a 3-5 minute presentation in Khmer on a topic of your choice from any of the 12 modules we have covered.

Project Requirements:

  1. Choose a Topic: Select any subject that interested you. Examples: "My Family" (Module 2), "A Guide to the Sampeah" (Module 5), "Why Sinn Sisamouth is a Legend" (Module 8), or "My Favorite Khmer Food" (Module 12).
  2. Write a Short Script: Prepare a script of what you want to say. Aim for 150-250 words. Use the vocabulary and grammar you have learned throughout this course.
  3. Practice Pronunciation: Read your script aloud many times. Use the Text-to-Speech buttons throughout the course to check your pronunciation. Record yourself and listen back.
  4. Deliver Your Presentation: Record an audio or video of you giving the presentation. The goal is not perfection, but confident communication.

Tips for Success:

  • Structure: Start with a greeting (ជំរាបសួរ...), introduce your topic (ថ្ងៃនេះខ្ញុំនឹងនិយាយអំពី...), present your main points, and end with a thank you (សូមអរគុណ។).
  • Simplicity: It is better to use simple, correct sentences than complex, incorrect ones.
  • Confidence: Don't be afraid to make mistakes! The goal is to apply your knowledge and communicate.

Evaluation Guide:

Your presentation will be considered successful if it:

  • Is on a topic from the curriculum.
  • Uses relevant vocabulary and correct basic grammar (SVO structure).
  • Is mostly understandable.
  • Meets the approximate time requirement.
Congratulations on Completing the Core Curriculum! You have built an incredible foundation in the Khmer language, from its script to its cultural context and specialized vocabulary. Your language journey is just beginning, and we are proud of the progress you have made.
